Well it is 4:30 am on Monday at my house. I have to get Allie up because she has tons of homework. This weekend was PROM and none of us got our homework done with all of the festivities. On Friday night the dinner plan for the group seemed to get unraveled. To make a long story short, dinner for Prom for 8 friends was at our house. We decided on our menu-- with 6 cheese mac and cheese and risotto, dashed to the grocery at midnight and set up a dining area in the living room. We also needed to clean all dog hair (we have three mutts) from any furniture and bought some extra lint brushes just in case. We had 6 friends at our house (most of whom we knew) while Allie was still searching for the right shoes in her room. My husband grilled chicken and pineapples spears-- which are completely yummy, while I manned the stove and oven. We also had roasted garlic/rosemary potatoes. The Juniors all got along and seemed to enjoy themselves. --And no one spilled any sauce on themselves or the floor. While they went to Prom, giggling and primping I cleaned the kitchen and dishes for over an hour. We used the good dishes/glasses/silverware which all need to be hand washed. Then we had Allie and her date back to change for after Prom and 3 guests for the after after Prom. My husband got up at 6 am for a 50K run and the last teen had just departed. They all had fun and I must admit we were honored and delighted to be the restaurant choice. We noshed on leftovers much of Sunday. What did Al (my poor husband) and I dine on---- dessert, wine and then nacho cheese and chips. After all he was in TRAINING.
